"You hear so many horror stories about repair people, how they take advantage of you, but every once in a while, you come across somebody who is GREAT!!  Somebody who is honest and nice enough to help you out.  The water feature in our refrigerator wouldn’t work.  But Larry, whom we didn’t know from Adam was decent enough, and kind and honest to tell us how to fix it which we did in 4 minutes.  Somebody else, we fear, would have come and charged us a lot of money to repair it and times right now are tough.  But this wonderful man was terrific enough to help us as we just explained.  
 
You can bet that our friends, our family, ourselves, if we ever need anybody for refrigerator or any other service he provides, without a second thought we would call him.

"My refrigerator stopped working in the middle of the night when I woke up the next morning I walked in the kitchen to find a flood of melted ice and ice cream along with everything else, everything in my frig was warm, in a panic I called GE to make a long story short after waiting on the phone forever and after having to go over and over what the problem was, model numbers, serial numbers she told me that it would be a $90.00 charge just to come to the house, and that they wouldn’t be able to get to me until the next day! The next day what good does that do me I asked her, I told her that I was going to call someone else, then she said that she would call dispatch and see if they could get me in any sooner, so while I was waiting for her I started looking up repairmen online and came a crossed Larrys web site, I called him(7:00AM) in a panic and told him my troubles and he knew right away what he thought the problem could be, he got my name and address and said that he would call me back, which he did, he came to my house and fixed my refrigerator, he even had the part I needed, and he even cleaned off the dust off the top of the frig, the whole visit took about 15 mins as he was finishing up GE called and said that they could fit me in but it could be any  where from 11:00-5:00 I told them forget it the frig is already fixed, I would NEVER NEVER call GE or anyone else for any repair, Larry will be my repair man totally trustworthy and honest, and I’m not kidding he saved the day. "Abel Appliance Repair, The Company that Larry Built!  Incredible service! Punctual! Polite! and Professional!

I first called Larry  back in the Fall of '09 when my bottom-of-the-line "Performa" refrigerator by Maytag quit cooling.

We called Larry about 8:00 in the morning.  He found time to come by right after lunch that same day.  He troubleshot, advised me, and repaired the problem within 90 minutes.  I was simply amazed. 

Larry advised me that a Hot Start Kit installed in my unit would fix it for now, but the compressor would fail.  He said it could be three months or a year.  He gave me a VERY reasonable price and told me that if the compressor did fail that he would reduce the cost of that repair by the amount I paid him for this one!  Who does that?!! 

From then to now.  The compressor did fail; a year and a half later.  I called Larry, he remembered repairing my refrigerator back on '09 and told me that he would have to get a new compressor.  He had it the part the next day.  He managed to squeeze me in to a very busy schedule and get my repair done quickly.  He is happy when he works and has a wonderful sense of humor!  When he was done, he gave us the bill and it was exactly what he quoted minus the cost of the first repair!  I couldn't believe he honored that a year and a half later.

Larry is a consummate professional.  When I described him to my Dad, his comment was, "He's a good business man!"  He is, indeed.  I recommend Abel Appliance Repair and Larry Garner to anyone who needs an appliance repaired.  He won't steer you wrong!

"I was having trouble with my washing machine and called this company to arrange a service call. When I told him the maker of the washing machine, he advised that it would be better to purchase a new washer than try to get this one fixed. I was on the wire of even calling to see if it could be fixed and so appreciated his honesty to tell me it wasn't worth it than to come to my house, charge me a service call and then tell me the same thing he did over the phone. This is an honest company and I can trust from now on out to fix all my appliances and I recommend him to others. No lying, no cheating, just honest reliable is what I personally feel about this company."

"Called Abel appliance repair Saturday morning and Larry answered. I told him what the issue was and he said he would come out that afternoon, again a Saturday and same day. About 3pm he got there, took a look at the refrigerator, determined it was probably the main board, so he tried that. Sure enough that was the issue. The bill was extremely reasonable and I say that because I looked up the part to see how much it would have cost me, so I know the amount he charged me total was more than fair. He was very professional and friendly and did I mention he came out on a Saturday the same day? Gave me some free advice on my AC and even gave me a reference to someone if I needed a repair on that. Overall, I couldn't be happier and am glad I decided to give him a call. No question that in the future if I need something done like this he will be the first and only one I call. Thank you again."

"I was having a refrigerator issue on a Sunday evening. I called Abel Appliance and left a message. Less than an hour later, Larry returned my message and instructed me to take the back off my frig. On doing that, I discovered the fan was not turning. I pushed it and it began to move. Larry said I just repaired my refrigerator. Larry's experience helped me within a few minutes to get my refrigerator cooling again. I will be referring Abel Appliance Repair to anyone that has a problem. "I contacted Abel a couple of days ago about a refrigerator/freezer (r/f) problem on the old unit we keep in the garage. I did so because they had done work for us several times before. Larry called back and discussed the potential causes and related repair costs. He gave me clear instructions how to open the freezer compartment to describe the conditions I saw. Subsequently, we discussed the costs of repair versus the value of the 21 year old r/f. He consulted with me for at least 30 thirty minutes on the phone at no charge. Although he could have had my repair business, he recommended that I replace the unit rather than paying him to repair it.

I value his candor and integrity. I can recommend him to others for their appliance repairs."

"I had a problem with the freezer not cooling enough, but yet had frozen ice patches on the ice maker. I contacted Larry the owner of Abel early in the day and later that evening Larry was in my home to take care of the problem. He replaced and repaired the issue within minutes. "Hi y'all.

I don't usually "mass mail" recommendation but I am sooo impressed that I just had to share.

I often get calls or emails asking if I know a good "service guy" for just about anything that could need repair. We often feel better getting a recommendation from a friend than just "point and pick" from the phone book. That said, I'd like to share a short story:

The water dispenser on the door of our refrigerator ceased to work. I called a number I had "picked" from our phone book. When I did that, the string of superior service began.

1. A real live technician answered my call (after 5:00 PM)
2. He agreed to stop by between 11:00 and 12:00 the next day (not a 4-5 hour window like I usually get)
3. He was on time.
4. He was personable, knowledgeable and professional.
5. He analyzed the problem - had the part on the truck - and fixed the refrigerator in about 30  minutes.
6. His charge was - to say the least - reasonable.

These things alone can't convey my satisfaction with the visit and on top of that, I who I will call for ALL my appliance repair needs going forward.

"I have to take a minute and write about the fantastic service that I received from Larry on my refrigerators. He was very professional, polite, and showed up exactly when he said he would. He disgnosed and fixed the first refrigerator and while doing that, told me wheat the problem was with the second one and even helped me fix it for no additional charge. He even showed me a way to prevent the problem from recurring. I was amazed. In this day and age, I have not met another repairman who provides this level of service and is so committed to doing a quality job, let alone going above and beyond to help you out. If that wasn't enough, while he was here he noticed that the AC had gone out in the house and I asked him if he knew any AC repairemen. Well, he looked at the unit for me and told me what the problem was, even though he no longer repairs AC units. Turns out, it was the same part that had bee replaced in May, and he encouraged me to call the other service company and see if it was still under warranty. I would highly recommend Larry for any appliance repair that you need, you will not find any better service than his.

"I called Larry late in the afternoon about my refrigerator that was not cooling and he stopped by that night! I was told by several different companies that I may need a new motherboard for my GE Refrigerator (LOTS of $$). Larry came out and said that NO I did not need a new motherboard and did some minor repairs. "Our 6 year old Kenmore side by side refrigerator was not cooling or freezing this morning, I called Sears 1st only to find out they would not be able to respond until 2 days later, I looked up Emergency appliance repair in Frisco, TX, found Abel Appliance repair and called them.
